Black ebony and purpleheart wood earrings hung like pennants by copper chain. This wood is unstained, what is shown is the natural color of the wood. Woods like purpleheart will darken over time with sun exposure, they are treated with UV protection to minimize this. Copper rings are used to hang the lightweight pieces from stainless steel leverbacks. Stainless steel should be ok for those with sensitive ears.
